A look back on a busy year of sport, as well as ahead to the first Rugby World Cup in Asia
We were lucky enough to be joined by rugby legend Ben Kay MBE at our recent STH Live Business Breakfast hosted to celebrate two years to go until Rugby World Cup 2019.
Kay was a member of the England Rugby squad who won the Rugby World Cup in 2003, was part of the 2005 British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand & Australia and was the only England squad member to be on the field during all seven matches in the 2007 World Cup.
Having won 62 caps with England we were keen to get Ben’s thoughts on the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2019, which is being held in Japan for the first time.
What does he thinks makes Rugby World Cup such a special tournament? What does he think the home nations’ chances are, and what does he think of England’s so called “pool of death”?
Watch the video here to find out what he had to say.
Whilst we are already looking ahead with anticipation to 2019, 2017 has been a busy and exciting year for STH Live as we have offered our clients a range of corporate hospitality experiences at different sporting events including rugby, football, tennis and athletics.
For key England 6 Nations 2017 games we hosted clients and their guests at Chase Bridge Hospitality Village at Twickenham. Chase Bridge is considered one of the finest official hospitality experiences at Twickenham, combining the best celebrity guest speakers, a genuine rugby atmosphere and fantastic location.
In August the world’s greatest athletes returned to the London Stadium for the IAAF World Championships London 2017 for a record-breaking 10 day event. We were the exclusive hospitality provider for the Championships, which were being held in the capital for the very first time. Our Diamond guests enjoyed a never-before-seen behind-the-scenes track experience, and who could forget Sir Mo Farah winning the 10,000m men’s final in spectacular fashion.
As well as the corporate hospitality experiences, we also hosted guests a our STH Live Business Breakfast events, which featured keynote speakers from the world of sport and business including former Team GB psychologist Dr Steve Ball, ex-professional poker player Caspar Berry and business leadership expert Humphrey Walters. Our guest speakers were joined on stage by a host of well-known sports stars including Jonathan Edwards CBE, Daryll Neita, Kelly Sotherton, Dai Greene, Ben Kay MBE and Anthony Watson to get their thoughts on subjects such as leadership, risk and reward and the business of winning.
