The Business of Winning with England Rugby Leadership Expert

After a successful Autumn Internationals campaign which saw England beat Australia, Argentina and Samoa the team are looking to continue their preparations for Rugby World Cup 2019™. Following the recent match schedule announcement, Jones, who has now led the team to win 22 out of 23 test matches since he took the helm in 2015, has already declared there are “no excuses” for England not to win the World Cup with what he called the “ideal build up”. With the match schedule now confirmed, it’s clear Jones and the team are already looking east to ensure they have World Cup victory firmly in their sights.

To celebrate two years to go until Rugby World Cup 2019 we hosted a rather special STH Live Business Breakfast with guest speakers Ben Kay MBE and Anthony Watson.

Well-known leadership and teamwork expert Humphrey Walters, who took on the world’s toughest yacht race to put his management theories to the test before going on to famously work with Sir Clive Woodward and the World Cup winning England Rugby team, outlined what he has learnt working with “winners” in the world of business, high performance sport and at sea.

Importantly, “winners don’t do different things – they do things differently”, which is something Jones will be looking to instill in the squad before their bid to lift the Webb Ellis Cup in just under two years’ time.

Watch our keynote highlights video to find out more about Walters’ top tips for leadership and the power of winning.
