– Event – STH Live Business Breakfast Series

How do you promote leadership team effectiveness in business? In the first of our STH Live Business Breakfast Series event, Dr Steve Bull took attendees through his experience working with some of the greatest sports stars in the world, as a performance psychologist for Team GB and the England Cricket team, and also challenged guests to think about their attitude in business.

Attendees of the event learned that leadership team effectiveness is based on seven principles:

  1. Coach “attitude” – choosing to get better every day and CAN DO
  2. Chase BIG goals – “Bannister-type thinking”
  3. Control the controllables
  4. Review successes – The Confidence Peaks Chart
  5. Encourage “signature strengths” as much as possible
  6. Cultivate a “feedback-driven” team culture
  7. Enjoy the challenge.

Steve was also joined on stage by former Olympian, Jonathan Edwards CBE and Daryll Neita, current Team GB sprinter and Olympic bronze medal winner, who both provided first-hand accounts on how they have prepared for major championships, overcome obstacles and adapted to performing under extreme pressure.

We will be posting a series of short highlights videos from the event, look out for these on our STH Live website and twitter page @STH_Live. In the meantime, you can also see the full discussion recorded live on our STH Live Facebook page.
